Background

Bonby Pre-School was set up 20 years ago and the many children that have attended have benefited from the fundimental aim of learning through play.

The Pre-School has developed immensely since its opening, now providing structured learning and exellent care for those important formative years for your child by introducing them to the concept of being in a 'school' environment.

Various educational legislation introduced throughout the years now means that the Pre-School prepares your child for their start at primary school, making the transition easy and ensuring that their education and social skills help them in that transition.

Not forgetting that children like to have fun, the friendly staff of the Pre-School ensure that your child is welcomed into the fun environment with lots of structured play and enjoys all areas of social interaction with their little friends.

The staff and committee of the Pre-School are committed to ensuring that the above is done to the highest standards such that we have received a good Ofsted report and inspection and were the first rural Pre-School to receive the industry kitemark of accreditation. The Pre-School has also been awarded Step 1 of North Lincolnshire's 'Steps to Quality' quality mark.

We provide an open policy in that we encourage as much involvement with your child's time here as you wish with frequent open parent mornings such that you can discuss with your child's nominated Keyworker about your child's progress and receive some feedback. In addition to this, there are meetings, social events and fundraising events which helps the partnership between home and Pre-School develop even more.

Aims of Bonby Pre-School

  1. To provide a happy, stimulating environment for children, staff and parents.
  2. To given each child the chance to learn through play and talk with support, encouragement and guidance whilst allowing the child space and time to discover and enjoy the many opportunities around him or her.
  3. To encourage the development of lively and inquiring minds, with the major emphasis on having a positive attitude towards learning which will stay with them throughout their education and beyond.
  4. To achieve and maintain high standards enabling each child to develop their full potential.
  5. To provide broad and relevant leaning opportunities reflecting the needs of each individual child. The goals we will work towards will be based on the Early Learning Goals specified by the Department of Education.
  6. To help children work co-operatively, to develop their social skills and to heighten their awareness of the other children and adults around them.
  7. To promote equality of opportunity for all children, encouraging any special interests or abilities.
  8. To establish close links with parents and to involve them in the day to day running of the Pre-School.
  9. To enable the children and adults to feel happy, secure and confident and also to feel the sense of achievement through pleasurable learning.
